The president-elect has mistakenly shared a private Mar-a-Lago invite for the tech billionaire

US President-elect Donald Trump has posted what appears to be a private text to Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. The message on Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, disclosed an invitation to visit his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Thursday’s post quickly caught the attention of social media users before the post was deleted. Screenshots shared by several outlets included Musk’s acknowledgment of the invitation, but did not confirm whether he planned to attend.

“Where are you? When are you coming to the ‘Center of the Universe,’ Mar-a-Lago,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He went on to mention that Microsoft founder Bill Gates had requested a visit on Friday night, adding: “We miss you and X! New Year’s Eve is going to be AMAZING!!!” before signing off with his initials, “DJT.”

The reference to “X” is believed to refer to Musk’s son, commonly known as “X.” Musk has previously brought his son to public events, including meetings on Capitol Hill and Trump’s watch party at Mar-a-Lago during the November election.

The message comes at a time when Musk – whom Trump has appointed to co-lead a government efficiency initiative – is facing criticism from Trump loyalists over his support for a visa program that allows highly skilled foreign workers to immigrate to the US. Critics argue that H1-B visas are exploited by American companies to hire foreign workers instead of qualified Americans.

Musk has been a frequent visitor to Mar-a-Lago in recent months, often appearing in family photos with Trump’s children and grandchildren, sources have said.

However, he was notably absent from recent Trump family celebrations. Instead, Musk posted a photo of himself dressed as Santa Claus, dubbing himself “Ozempic Santa,” a reference to weight-loss medication. The tycoon clarified in a later post that he was in fact taking Mounjaro, a similar drug.
