Tunisia restarts CNCI non-commercial acquisition of national films

Tunisia’s culture ministry has reopened CNCI Session 2026 for buying non-commercial exploitation rights in Tunisian films, ending a freeze in place since 2022.

Tunisia’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs has reactivated the mechanism to acquire non-commercial exploitation rights in Tunisian films. The scheme had been suspended since 2022.

The National Centre of Cinema and Image (CNCI) opened Session 2026 immediately. Applications are due by 2 October 2026 at 17:30 at CNCI’s central registry office in Cité de la Culture, Tunis.

Eligible applicants are Tunisian producers of feature or short films — fiction, documentary or animation — completed in 2022, 2023 or 2024 that received no prior public support from the ministry or institutions under its authority.

Ministry messaging, as reported by La Presse, frames the restart as support for professionals, valorisation of national works, and an additional financial contribution for producers. Acquisition tariff amounts were not published in the sources checked.
