Colorful and festive celebrations were in order on Sunday in Tarragona (northeastern Spain), on the occasion of the Amazigh New Year 2975.
Organized on the initiative of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Tarragona, the event showcased the full breadth and diversity of Morocco’s cultural heritage.
Several Spanish personalities from different backgrounds took part in the celebrations, including the mayor of the El Vendrell town and the president of the port of Tarragona.
The soiree was also attended by members of civil society and many members of the Moroccan community living in Tarragona and surrounding areas.
The evening’s program offered a genuine immersion in Amazigh culture, an essential part of Morocco’s multi-faceted national identity.
Guests had the opportunity to discover the richness and specificities of Moroccan Amazigh culture through parades of traditional dress, a crafts exhibition, music performances and a tasting session of authentic Amazigh dishes.
