At least 100 people have been killed across a wide swath of the southeastern US after torrential rains and flooding brought by Hurricane Helene downed power and communication lines, blocked roads, and caused supply shortages. All eyes are now fixed on the presidential candidates and their response to the disaster in a region which could prove key to deciding the upcoming presidential election.
