Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated The Odyssey will be filmed in stunning natural locations across Morocco, the UK, and Italy from January to April 2025, according to Production Weekly.
The film, based on Homer’s epic poem, is slated for a July 2026 release and is set to be Nolan’s most expensive project to date. Notably, the film will be shot using the latest IMAX technology, with a focus on real-world settings, as Nolan famously avoids relying on CGI and green screens.
The cast is already brimming with star power, including Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson, and Lupita Nyong’o. There’s also speculation that Robert Downey Jr. may join the ensemble, though that’s yet to be confirmed.
With its sweeping scope, The Odyssey is expected to run well over three hours, offering an epic cinematic experience that will bring Homer’s ancient tale to life in a way only Nolan can.
