Colombian police, in a joint operation with Belgian and British authorities, have arrested a notorious drug lord identified as Namousi Munir, also known as “Mo.”
According to Colombian media reports, Munir, a Belgian national of Moroccan origin, is believed to be a key link between the Balkan Cartel and drug trafficking organizations in Latin America.
The arrest was announced during the inauguration ceremony of the new commander of the Bogota Metropolitan Police, Brigadier General Giovanni Cristancho Zambrano, on Friday, February 28, 2025, in Bolivar Square in the heart of the capital.
Speaking to the media, the Director of the Colombian National Police, General Carlos Fernando Triana, confirmed the details of the operation, which took place in Barranquilla in northern Colombia. He explained that the arrest followed an investigation revealing connections between the cartel and Clan del Golfo, a major Colombian criminal organization.
