Several nations have initiated evacuation plans for their citizens in Lebanon amid a “limited” ground offensive by the Israeli army against Hezbollah in the southern region of the country, which began on Tuesday.

France
A French navy ship has departed from Toulon and is en route to Lebanon as a precautionary measure to facilitate potential evacuations of French citizens. The amphibious helicopter carrier is expected to arrive in the eastern Mediterranean in five to six days. Approximately 23,000 French and French-Lebanese nationals currently reside in Lebanon.

Germany
Germany has dispatched a military plane to Beirut to evacuate embassy staff and their families, along with employees from other German organizations and citizens requiring medical assistance. About 1,800 German citizens are registered with the German embassy’s crisis response team in Lebanon.

United Kingdom
The United Kingdom announced on Monday that it has chartered a commercial flight to assist citizens wishing to leave Lebanon. The flight is scheduled to depart from Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport on Wednesday. Additionally, London has deployed 700 troops to Cyprus in preparation for possible further evacuations.

Canada
Canada has secured 800 seats on commercial flights for its citizens looking to exit Lebanon, with the next flight set for Tuesday. Approximately 45,000 Canadians are currently in the country. The Canadian military has also positioned resources in Cyprus to address any emergencies that may arise if commercial flights are disrupted.

As the situation develops, these countries continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of their citizens in Lebanon.
