Crickets in the kitchen, mushrooms in the shower: Is this the ‘flat of the future’?

In a small apartment just outside Paris, a couple are attempting to live in what some believe may be the “flat of the future”. But rather than high-tech gadgets, the apartment is filled with low-tech energy-saving measures, including a cricket farm for added sustenance and a crop of edible mushrooms growing in the bathroom. The goal is to reduce waste and energy consumption in line with the UN’s 2050 target for greenhouse gas emissions.
