Emirates Airline and Flydubai have canceled all flights to Iraq, Iran, and Jordan scheduled for October 2 and 3 due to escalating tensions in the region, reports The National.

The Dubai-based airlines had previously suspended routes to and from Beirut until October 8, coinciding with Israel’s military incursion into southern Lebanon.

In a statement on its website, Emirates announced, “Customers transiting through Dubai with final destinations in Iraq, Iran, and Jordan will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin until further notice.” The airline emphasized that it is closely monitoring the situation and maintaining communication with relevant authorities regarding any developments.

Meanwhile, Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, announced the cancellation of its flight service to Tel Aviv on October 2. A representative stated, “Etihad is monitoring the situation across the region and continues to maintain close contact with authorities.” The canceled flights include EY593 from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv and EY594 returning to Abu Dhabi.

Passengers affected by the cancellations will receive assistance with alternative travel arrangements, according to the airline.
