The European Union will launch a new incentives package worth 500 million euros to make the bloc “a magnet for researchers” from elsewhere, Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said Monday.

Speaking at a Paris conference on ways to lure foreign researchers, especially from the United States under Donald Trump, she said of the $567-million initiative that “we have to offer the right incentives”.
