The EU plans to pare back many of the rules weighing on European businesses challenged by rivals in China and the United States — while sticking with its climate goals, the bloc’s chief Ursula von der Leyen said Wednesday.
Future proposals “will target red tape and administrative burden in a number of areas. But I also want to be very clear: our climate and social goals do not change”, she told business leaders in the Belgian port city of Antwerp. “We are staying the course towards our decarbonisation goals.”
