Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar told his French counterpart that authorities must ensure the safety of Israeli fans, in a phone call Thursday ahead of a Paris football match between France and Israel.
“Israeli fans’ security must be assured,” Saar told France’s top diplomat Jean-Noel Barrot during their first phone call, according to the Israeli foreign ministry. It came a week after Israeli fans were attacked in Amsterdam following a match there.
