Israeli forces carried out a series of demolitions and military operations in southern Lebanon on Monday morning, including the destruction of homes in the town of Aita al-Shaab, located in the Bint Jbeil district.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, a large Israeli force, supported by tanks and military vehicles, conducted operations in the areas of Al-Mufilaha and Ras Al-Zuhr near the town of Mays Al-Jabal. These operations involved heavy gunfire and extensive ground sweeps, accompanied by low-altitude drone flights over the region.
Earlier in the day, powerful explosions were reported in Mays Al-Jabal, followed by the movement of Israeli military vehicles within the town. Surveillance drones also flew at low altitudes over Tyre and surrounding villages, heightening tensions in the area.
In addition, Israeli forces conducted heavy and medium-caliber gunfire sweeps in the southern town of Al-Khiam.
This escalation comes despite a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel that was announced on November 26 and went into effect the following morning. Since then, Israel has repeatedly violated the terms of the ceasefire, reigniting instability along the border region.
