Israeli forces entered the western side of Al-Malqa village in Syria’s Quneitra Governorate on Saturday, beginning construction on a military road stretching from the border to the Darayat military point, according to local reports.

The movements are taking place in an area of strategic importance. Quneitra is a vital link connecting southern Syria with the occupied Golan Heights, while the Darayat area overlooks key positions in the Golan, Syria TV reported.

Earlier this week, Israeli tanks were deployed to several southern Quneitra locations, including Al-Esha, Abu Gara, Mazraat Al-Heiran, and the Tank Battalion Camp. Israeli forces conducted searches, cleared land, and seized control of the Al-Mantera Dam, the report added.

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, Israel has intensified operations in Syrian territories adjacent to the demilitarized zone in the Golan Heights. Two weeks ago, Israeli troops advanced into the Syrian side of Mount Hermon, declaring control over an abandoned military site.

Israeli officials described the moves as “temporary security measures” pending new arrangements. During a visit to the region, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military presence would continue “to protect Israel’s security” but did not specify a timeline for withdrawal.
