A Kuwaiti court on Tuesday sentenced Talal Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, the country’s former Minister of Interior and Defense, to 14 years in prison and fined him 20 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately $65 million).

The ruling came after Al-Sabah was prosecuted on charges of embezzlement during his tenure in the Ministries of Interior and Defense.

According to media sources, the verdict addresses two corruption cases involving the former minister, marking a significant development in Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to combat financial crimes and uphold accountability within government institutions.
