Fires continue to ravage Los Angeles, having already scorched over 15,000 hectares and destroyed 10,000 buildings. While strong winds fueled the flames for days, calmer conditions on January 10 gave firefighters a much-needed break, allowing them to make some headway in controlling the blaze.
