President Emmanuel Macron renewed French support for Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara Tuesday and pledged French investment in the largely Moroccan-controlled but disputed territory. FRANCE 24’s Mark Owen speaks to William Lawrence, Professor of Political Science at the American University. He says that the choice by Macron to side with Morocco on Western Sahara will have consequences on the relations with Algeria, and possibly affect energy supplies.
