During her first visit to Madagascar with her husband, Brigitte Macron is set to meet several women entrepreneurs. She plans to visit the workshop of Made For Woman, a Madagascan nonprofit established five years ago, where 800 artisans craft handbags for top luxury brands using raffia, a local fibre. The organisation is particularly notable for employing vulnerable women—victims of violence, the disabled, or sex workers—in a bid to help lift them out of poverty.
