The Dutch health authorities have reported 108 cases of measles, with the latest cases occurring in four elementary schools across various areas of Amsterdam.

According to the Dutch National Institute for Public Health, at least 17 people contracted the measles since the beginning of this year after being exposed to the virus while in Morocco.

Three people in the Netherlands have been confirmed to have contracted the measles after returning from Romania, where the disease is currently spreading.

Morocco has reported tens of thousands of measles cases, with over 100 deaths attributed to the virus.

In France, the spread of measles has also been linked to cases coming from Morocco, with more than 6,300 confirmed cases and 120 deaths in the country, according to the Moroccan Ministry of Health.

French reports indicate a significant increase in cases following the recent school holidays, with 13 cases reported from Morocco in 2025, compared to just 26 cases in all of 2024.
