Moroccan expert Khadija Bendam was appointed on Wednesday the first Vice-President of the International Nuclear Society Council (INSC), a global organization that brings together nuclear companies worldwide.
As a representative of “Women in Nuclear-Global,” Bendam is the first woman to hold this prestigious position within the INSC, an organization that represents more than 80,000 professionals in the nuclear sector.
The Moroccan expert’s mandate will last for one year, until the Council’s General Assembly, scheduled to take place in Vienna alongside the 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
“This is a wonderful opportunity to serve, influence and contribute to the growth and success of the INSC,” said Bendam.
This position, entrusted to a Moroccan woman, testifies to Morocco’s growing leadership and influence both nationally and internationally, she underlined, noting that it also enhances Morocco’s influence on regional and global scales.
“I look forward to collaborating with my fellow leaders to make a meaningful impact and advance our nuclear industry on a global scale,” she said.
Recognized as a Non-Governmental Organization with the IAEA and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the INSC serves as a global forum for discussion and the establishment of common goals among nuclear companies, while defending the interests of industry professionals.
