A total of 495 Moroccans are on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) non-detained docket with final orders of removal as of November 24, 2024.
This information came to light through a response by ICE to a question from Fox News.
ICE reported that 360 Algerians and 160 Tunisians who are on the non-detained docket have final orders of removal.
This campaign is part of the ongoing efforts by U.S. immigration authorities to remove noncitizens who have received final deportation orders.
ICE’s enforcement policies are based on the U.S. government’s stance that every country must take back its own citizens who are not eligible to stay in the U.S. But the process is often delayed due to lack of cooperation from some foreign governments.
Countries that fail to facilitate the return of their nationals by not issuing travel documents or conducting interviews in a timely manner may be classified as uncooperative.
Currently, ICE considers 15 countries, including China, Russia, and Venezuela, as uncooperative, while 11 others, such as Iraq and Vietnam, are at risk of non-compliance.
The newly inaugurated Trump administration has been increasing its immigration enforcement efforts. Just this past Sunday, nearly 1000 people were arrested as part of a nationwide crackdown, according to ICE.
In January 2025, President Donald Trump launched an aggressive campaign to deport undocumented immigrants from the United States. This initiative began with a series of executive orders aimed at overhauling U.S. immigration law and policy.
One of the administration’s first actions was to repeal limits on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents imposed by former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, thereby empowering ICE agents to pursue more illegal immigrants.
The administration also revoked policies that had previously limited ICE operations in sensitive locations such as schools, hospitals, and places of worship, thereby expanding the areas where ICE agents could conduct arrests.
The Trump administration has been using military aircraft to speed up deportations, with deportation flights to remove undocumented immigrants already underway.
