More than 300 German companies are now established in Morocco, creating nearly 35,000 jobs across various sectors, including engineering and technology.
This growing German presence reflects Morocco’s role as a reliable, competitive, and innovative economic hub, attracting increasing foreign investment, said Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour during the “Africa Trade and Investment: Risk Management” Forum in Frankfurt on November 6.
Mezzour emphasized that these companies are contributing to Morocco’s economic dynamism and helping to position the country as a gateway to global markets.
He also reaffirmed Morocco’s ambition to improve its international standing by 2030, focusing on infrastructure development and enhancing competitiveness.
The forum, organized by the German-African Business Association (Africa Verein), aims to facilitate deeper economic ties between Germany and Africa.
It brought together key decision-makers from both regions to explore ways to strengthen partnerships, reduce investment risks, and promote regional integration. Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was also in attendance as the guest of honor.
