Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced on Thursday the launch of a new flight route connecting Rabat to Dakhla, as part of its efforts to strengthen its domestic network.

Starting January 15, 2025, the new direct Rabat-Dakhla route will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays, the airline said in a statement.

Flights will depart from Rabat at 18:50 and arrive in Dakhla at 21:30, while return flights will leave Dakhla at 22:10 and land in Rabat at 00:25, according to the same source.

This new direct flight route is part of RAM’s development plan, which focuses on expanding domestic services. Additionally, the launch is part of a partnership between RAM and the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, aimed at improving the region’s air connectivity. Dakhla, known for its undeniable tourism potential, will benefit from enhanced national and international visibility, the statement added.

The ticket price has been set by both partners at 2,000 dirhams for a round-trip in economy class. “The launch of this route will undoubtedly strengthen Dakhla’s air connectivity and, more generally, that of the southern provinces,” emphasized Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM, in the statement.

He added that RAM is consolidating its role as a driver of economic and tourism development across various regions of the Kingdom, continuing its efforts to facilitate mobility for Moroccans across all twelve regions by increasing direct connections and enhancing the passenger experience.

The partnership between RAM and the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region strengthens air links between northern and southern cities. The national carrier already operates two daily flights between Casablanca and Dakhla.

With the launch of the Rabat-Dakhla direct route, Royal Air Maroc is further advancing its strategy to expand its domestic network, in line with the objectives outlined in the program contract signed in July 2023 with the Moroccan government.

This new approach by Royal Air Maroc aims to better connect cities within the Kingdom, open up remote regions, and promote domestic tourism, the statement concluded.
