Spanish police dismantled a criminal network accused of recruiting minors to carry out contract killings. Several suspects were arrested in Alicante on Wednesday, including a Swedish couple and their underage son.

According to Spanish police, the gang operated through the messaging app Telegram, recruiting minors from Sweden and Denmark for assassinations and bombings. The group was also involved in arms and drug trafficking, as well as money laundering.

The operation was conducted in coordination with Swedish and Danish authorities, along with Europol and Eurojust, the EU agencies responsible for law enforcement and justice.

Investigations began in May after a Swedish minor was arrested in the coastal town of Benalmádena in Andalusia. The teen had allegedly been recruited by the organization and traveled to Spain to assassinate a member of a rival biker gang.

Two other Swedish minors were later arrested in Denmark, also recruited to carry out another assassination.

Investigations revealed that the criminal network was led by the Swedish couple and their underage son, with the father and son playing key roles in recruiting minors and paying them for the killings, according to the police statement.
