Amid the LA wildfires, which have claimed at least 10 lives and destroyed over 10,000 buildings, one Malibu mansion remained untouched.
The nearly $9 million property, owned by 64-year-old retired waste-management executive David Steiner from Texas, was spared despite nearby homes being consumed by flames.
Steiner, who was not in California at the time, was sent video footage from a local contractor showing the fire raging around his property on Tuesday. “It’s a miracle — miracles never cease,” Steiner told The New York Post upon learning his home had survived.
The fire, part of a series of ongoing wildfires, has already burned thousands of homes and businesses, with five fires still active in the area.
