A Swiss insurance company, Baloise, has introduced a “Chief LOL Officer” to track office laughter using microphones and AI technology to boost employee morale.
If an employee fails to laugh enough during the workday, they are sent an email with a humorous video, like a cat falling off a table or a viral meme.
Project manager Alexandra Toscanelli explained to Swiss Info that the average adult laughs about 15 times a day, so Baloise set a target of four laughs within two hours for employees.
If they fall short, the LOL Officer steps in to offer a lighthearted break.
