U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dipped to 42%, marking his lowest level since January 2025, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll. The decline comes amid growing public unease over his attempts to expand presidential powers and clashes with federal courts and cultural institutions.
The poll revealed that 83% of respondents believe Trump must comply with federal court rulings, signaling concern over his defiance of judicial decisions.
A majority also disapproved of his actions toward universities and cultural centers, including his controversial move to appoint himself chair of the Kennedy Center.
Even among Republicans, over half opposed the idea of a third Trump term—despite his public hints, which run contrary to constitutional limits.
On key issues like immigration, taxation, and inflation, disapproval outweighed approval. Overall, 59% of respondents felt the U.S. was losing credibility globally.
