The 25th November is the UN-designated International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. In the Campania region of the South of Italy, reintegrating the job market is a challenge for victims of domestic violence given the patriarchal culture of the area and the presence of the Camorra, the Neapolitan mafia. The region has one of the highest rates of unemployment for women in Europe. Despite this difficult context, a social cooperative is offering refuge, training and work for women who have suffered from violence, to help them rebuild their lives. FRANCE 24’s team reports.
