A Moroccan-American tourist injured four people Tuesday evening in a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv’s Nahalat Binyamin neighborhood.

The attacker, identified as Abdelaziz Kaddi, a 36-year-old Moroccan national and U.S. green card holder, was shot dead at the scene.

Kaddi entered Israel on January 18 with a tourist visa. He was single and traveled to Israel alone, without family or friends or a hotel reservation.

According to Israeli news outlet I24, Kaddi arrived in Israel on a connecting flight from Poland. He had planned to stay for four days but carried out the stabbing on the third day.

A U.S. residency card belonging to the attacker was found at the scene. Reports say he was originally from Zagora. The American green card lottery program granted his residency permit, a DV1.

Back in April, Kaddi wrote on Facebook that half a million people in Gaza were on the brink of starvation.

Security flagged him as a potential threat at Ben Gurion Airport, but he was allowed entry after questioning.

The Shin Bet security agency said they questioned him and ran security checks when he entered Israel but didn’t find any reason to block him.

The Shin Bet has launched an investigation into the decision.

The victims, two men aged 24 and 28 in moderate condition and a 24-year-old and a 59-year-old with minor injuries, were taken to Ichilov Hospital.

According to reports, Kaddi stabbed three people before running to another street, where he injured a fourth.

Witnesses said he arrived on a motorcycle driven by an unidentified accomplice who fled.

Off-duty security personnel shot the attacker after he ignored warnings to stop. Police are searching for potential accomplices.

Hamas praised the attack, calling it a heroic act. In a statement, Hamas said, “The resistance continues to grow as long as the occupation and its crimes persist.”

Hamas added that this operation is a natural response just hours after dozens were killed and injured during the occupation’s assault on Jenin.

“It sends a clear message: blood will be met with blood, and the resistance will strike deep into the heart of this oppressive entity,” Hamas said.

This is the second stabbing attack in Tel Aviv in three days. A similar attack on Saturday injured a man in his 30s.

The assailant in that incident, 19-year-old Salah Yahye from Tulkarem, was in Israel illegally and was shot dead at the scene.
