Beirut Film Society's fund for emerging Lebanese filmmakers closes on 22 October, with live pitches on 4 November

The society's funding page sets out a two-week path from deadline to results but does not publish award amounts.

Emerging Lebanese filmmakers have until Thursday 22 October to apply for the Beirut Film Society's funding programme, according to the programme's page on the Beirut Shorts website.

The society says the programme exists to back new Lebanese voices in cinema by giving financial help to promising filmmakers, across a range of themes.

The timetable. After the 22 October deadline, the page lists a shortlist announcement on 30 October, live pitching on 4 November and final results on 6 November. That means shortlisted applicants would have about five days between learning they are through and pitching live.

What the page leaves out. The funding page does not give the size of the grants, the number of projects to be supported, or whether short films, features or both are eligible. It also describes the round in two ways: the heading calls it the third edition, while the text below refers to the second. The round number is therefore unconfirmed.

Why it matters: This round ends in a live pitch and runs on a short clock: from deadline to decision in just over two weeks. The open questions on money and format are ones the organisers have not answered on the page itself.
