Casablanca Heritage Days 2027: CasaMémoire takes project proposals, deadline 10 December per Le Matin
The heritage association wants exhibitions, talks, screenings, performances and installations on the theme "Casablanca, from here and elsewhere" for its 16th edition in April 2027; projects must bring their own funding.
CasaMémoire, the Casablanca association that works to protect the city's 20th-century architecture, has opened a call for projects for the 16th Casablanca Heritage Days, planned for April 2027. Proposals are accepted until Thursday 10 December 2026, according to Le Matin, which published the call on 21 October; CasaMémoire's own call document and form do not state a closing date.
**The theme.** This edition is built around "Casablanca, d'ici et d'ailleurs" (Casablanca, from here and elsewhere): how people arriving from other Moroccan regions and from abroad shaped the city, and how its architects, writers, film-makers and other creators carried its name beyond Morocco. The call document sets out six strands, among them internal and international migration and the port, neighbourhoods and buildings shaped by newcomers, schools, trades and know-how, family histories and private archives, and Casablanca's image abroad.
**Who can apply and how.** Le Matin says the call is open to artists, researchers, creators, collectives and associations. Entries go through an online form in Arabic and French. The form sets several conditions: a project has to tie clearly to the theme and to at least one strand, be developed enough to be judged, and come with a presentation video of no more than three minutes.
**What CasaMémoire offers, and what it does not.** Selected projects can join the festival's cultural programme and get publicity, and may be given access to heritage venues where these are free and permits allow. The form states plainly that taking part is not a promise of funding: each project must cover its own money, team and organisation. Incomplete or generic files may be set aside, and the association says applying does not guarantee selection.
**Why it matters:** This call is how project holders can seek a place in the 2027 cultural programme. Exact festival dates will be announced during 2027, Le Matin reports.
