Culture Resource Production Awards open to 19 October, with cinema grants up to €13,000
Mawred’s 2027 Production Awards round accepts applications until 19 October 2026 at 16:00 Beirut time, with grants in literature, visual arts, music and sound art, performing arts and cinema for Arab artists under 35.
Culture Resource (Al Mawred Al Thaqafy) has opened the call for its 2027 Production Awards round. Applications close on 19 October 2026 at 16:00 Beirut time, and results are due at the end of March 2027.
The programme backs young artists and writers born between January 1992 and December 2011 who originate from an Arab country, whether they live in the region or abroad. It covers five disciplines and supports up to 25 projects a year, five in each. Cinema carries the largest ceiling, at up to €13,000, for the production or post-production of short, medium-length or feature fiction, documentary, animated and experimental films. Performing arts, visual arts, and music and sound art are each capped at €8,500, while literature is capped at €6,500 on the programme page (the announcement post gives €8,500 for literature).
Applications must be completed in Arabic, apart from fields that call for English. Film projects must be submitted by the director; theatre and performance projects by the director or choreographer. The programme does not cover websites, workshops, support for organisations, academic or research-led projects, or TV series, nor the re-production of work already produced or presented.
The call opened on 17 August 2026. For screen and stage makers under 35, 19 October is the date to work to.
