Disney+ MENA redesigned app and Saudi-dialect Toy Story 5 go live 6 October

Disney+ will roll out a redesigned app experience across the Middle East and North Africa on 6 October 2026 and, on the same day, release the first Walt Disney Company film dubbed in the Saudi dialect—Toy Story 5—with a cast of Saudi actors, comedians and content creators, Arab News and Asharq Al-Awsat report from a Riyadh launch event on 30 September.

Company statements attribute the app update with more personalised recommendations, smoother viewing while travelling in the Middle East, Europe, the United States and other locations, stronger parental controls, PIN-protected profiles, and a dedicated children’s space branded Junior Mode or عالم الصغار. Tamim Fares, Disney+ director for MENA, framed the redesign around how regional households watch and travel today, while keeping family-friendly controls a priority.

For the Saudi-dialect Toy Story 5 track, Disney says the adaptation attended to local language, humour and cultural context while preserving the original story. Named voice roles in Arabic and English coverage include Ibrahim Al-Khairallah / Ibraheem Khairallah as Buzz Lightyear, Sohaib Qudus / Quddus as Woody, Reem Al-Habib as Jessie and Abdullah Rafeaa / Rafaa as Forky, among other Saudi performers and creators. The Saudi edition sits alongside existing Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Arabic versions. Secondary English coverage notes a wider October slate (including Marvel’s VisionQuest and returning series); those titles are calendar colour, not the lead.

Why it matters for Media and Family desks: a hard 6 October product date for every MENA subscriber’s app, plus a localisation first that puts Saudi dialect talent on a global franchise—actionable for platforms, parents and casting desks.
