Riyadh Air opens sales for Riyadh–Jakarta flights from 16 November
Riyadh Air will fly three times a week between Riyadh and Jakarta from 16 November 2026 on Boeing 787-9s, making the Indonesian capital its 16th destination on sale, the airline said on 5 October.
Riyadh Air has opened ticket sales for a three-times-weekly service between Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and Jakarta’s Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, starting on 16 November 2026. The airline said in a 5 October statement, carried by TradeArabia, that the route will use Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and makes Jakarta its 16th destination on sale.
According to the schedule published by Economy Class & Beyond, flights leave Riyadh on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays late in the evening and land in Jakarta around midday the next day. Return flights run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 17 November. Tickets are on sale through the airline’s app, website and travel agents.
The carrier is pitching the route at government, diplomatic and corporate travel, and as a new gateway for Indonesian religious visitors to Saudi Arabia. It cites bilateral trade of $6.6 billion in 2025 and $2.6 billion in the first half of 2026. Aviation data provider CAPA, citing OAG, says Riyadh Air will be the only scheduled operator on the non-stop route. The airline also says passengers will be able to connect through Riyadh to the rest of its network, and that more destinations will be announced in the coming weeks. Chief executive Tony Douglas called the launch “another important milestone” in its Asian expansion.
Jakarta follows the airline’s other Southeast Asia routes. CAPA lists Kuala Lumpur from 30 July, Bangkok from 2 September (going daily from 9 November) and Manila from 9 September (daily from 19 October).
Why it matters: Indonesia is the world’s largest Muslim-majority country. A non-stop capital-to-capital link adds capacity for pilgrim and business traffic between the two G20 economies, which is useful for Umrah operators, corporate travel desks and tour planners pricing the November–December season.
