Saudi Red Sea Authority drafts single rulebooks for visiting and Saudi-flagged yachts, comments open until 6 November

The visiting-yacht draft would replace four existing regulatory documents, including the rules on chartering large yachts.

The Saudi Red Sea Authority has two draft yacht rulebooks open for public comment on Istitlaa until 6 November 2026, according to the consultation listings recorded by Bawadir; the Saudi Press Agency, as carried by Tfaseel, also reported the Saudi-yacht draft.

Visiting yachts. One draft, "Requirements and Conditions for Visiting Yachts", would replace four documents now in force, among them the rules for chartering large yachts, according to the listing recorded by Bawadir. The board would scrap the old texts when it adopts the new one, which also covers foreign yachts calling in Saudi Red Sea waters.

Saudi yachts. The other draft covers yachts registered in the Kingdom. The authority says it turns existing regulations into clear, simpler requirements, with the aim of speeding up procedures and improving the experience for owners and operators.

Both drafts were posted on 7 October. The SPA, in a 15 October report carried by Tfaseel on a batch of 47 drafts then on Istitlaa, singled out the Saudi-yacht text and gave the same 6 November close.

What we could not check. Hada could not load the draft texts from Istitlaa, so permit steps, fees and document lists are not reported here.

Why it matters: for charter firms, marinas and owners of visiting yachts, folding four documents into one changes where the rules sit and may change what they say. The comment period is the point at which operators can respond before the board approves the texts.
