Our standards
Why we do it this way
Here is where our choices come from, so you never have to guess.
What you will notice
- There is no music or musical sound anywhere on this site.
- Our own graphics are a logo and an icon. We do not use photos of people or animals.
- Software can suggest, but anything it is unsure about goes to a person.
- We never give a score, and we never say a publisher or an item has been given a seal of approval.
Where these choices come from
Every rule rests on a written standard shared by all Byesar projects, called the ECS (Ethical Content Standard). Its basis is the Qur'an and Sunnah, and published rulings from IslamQA, following Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen where scholars differ. Our work is also halal in how it is funded: no interest-based products or deals.
This is not a fatwa. We describe what we did and why. We do not issue rulings, and we do not claim any endorsement.
